Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Protrusion or bulge of pelvic organs such as the uterus, bladder or rectum into the vagina and beyond can occur in some patients. This can cause discomfort and affect many aspects of the patient’s life. Usually, non-surgical measures are all that is needed but 1 in 9 patients may require surgery. We can help you with both. The International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) has some useful information for the public.

Contraception
Your GP will be the best person to advise on various types of contraception. You may try MSI Australia’s Contraception Quiz by clicking the link below to help your decision making. The website also has extensive information about various forms of contraception.
Occasionally, insertion of LARC (Long-Acting Reversible Contraception) such as Mirena or Kyleena may require cervical block or twilight anaesthesia which is a service we provide. This includes difficult retrieval of intra-uterine devices or Implanon. Permanent contraception by means of “tying” the tubes or complete removal of Fallopian Tubes through key-hole surgery is also available.
Please make an appointment if you have other questions or a specific condition that is concerning you.
